Is it strange for me to say that if I were to die today there's not a thing that I would change, I've lived well...
                                                                                                                        - Jhene Aiko

Life has gotten really real lately. School has been occupying most of my time so I haven't been posting as much as I want to. Hopefully, I'll learn how to manage my time a little better asap...

Lately, these dreads and my mood have really been inspiring my outfits. I've been feeling a lot like Jhene Aiko, just sailing along with the waves of life. Every wave has a lesson and throughout all the bs that comes along with it, you just gotta keep going.

The crochet kimono I'm wearing gives me a free spirit attitude, along with the dark colored statement necklace. I combined this free spirit feel with a little vintage floral top that I purchased from my favorite thrift store in Gainesville known as Flashbacks. I decided to pair it with some distressed high waist shorts that I also picked up from Flashbacks. I love the shorts are a little faded. The color just meshes together with the rest of the outfit.

This outfit was essentially based around my faux dreads.  Faux dreads are on the top of the list of my favorite hairstyles. Judging from the compliments I've received I'm guessing everyone else is loving them too. A couple of people were even upset with me when I informed them that they weren't real. It's going to suck to let them go because they're just so convenient, especially for the fall and winter.

I decided to go with an island girl type of look to compliment the dreads. I wanted to play around with earth tones for the fall while still having a summery vibe because it hasn't exactly cooled down in Florida yet. Statement necklaces are a big trend for the fall. If you feel that you're outfit is too simple just throw on one of these statement pieces and you'll surely stand out from the crowd!

Have you ever had one of those days when you're over everything and everyone? I literally rolled out of bed like "fuck it"and threw this shirt on. Don't you just love it? I purchased it at 3AM Boutique which is a new urban/streetwear store at Oaks Mall in Gainesville. This store is super-duper dope and I'm hoping to do a shoot with them in the near future. In the meantime, check them out on instagram though: @3amboutique

Okay so... Grey is slowly becoming one of my favorite colors to wear for the fall season and pairing it with silver chunky accessories adds a little flare to the dullness of the grey. Honestly, I've always preferred gold over silver but I wanted to try something different. I decided to wear my "Trap Lord" vans and weed socks to show y'all boys that I'm "bout that life" (SIKE!) I love transforming men's clothing into a feminine look that still fits my comfy yet quirky style. Can't forget to mention how the dreads just gives this look that extra bad ass impression!

Look #1: Turquoise Kimono: H&M / Floral one-piece
& clutch: Plato's Closet / Converse: Journey's

Look #2: Flower headband: ASOS / Body chain: Forever 21 /
Denim high-waist shorts: Goodwill / White halter bodysuit: American Apparel

I'm pretty weird. I think I put together outfits that most people wouldn't think of but that's the beauty of personal style.

Kimonos has to be one of my favorite pieces to wear for the summer. I love the way they flow with the wind as you walk. They also add a little extra flavor to any out, especially when paired with denim shorts. Too bad that summer breeze is coming to an end really soon. Say bye bye to bright colors and bold prints. Most people put their colorful clothing away until the next summer season but I'll find some way to brighten up Fall! Until then, I'll stick to my booty shawts and florals.

Btw.. are y'all loving these dreads or nah? Since I've had them I've gotten so many amazing compliments. They certainly bring out my eccentricity. I'm definitely thinking about locking up my real hair some time in the future.

I'm going to start off this post with a couple of facts:

Fact #1: I am not a model.
I don't want to be a model. I will never be a model.

Fact #2: I do not have perfect skin or a perfect body.
I have marks all over my legs from mosquito bites. My boobs are small. My ass is not fat. I don't have six pack abs.

Fact #3: I am not "bad".
I rarely get my nails done. I do not own a Michael Kors bag. I hardly like wearing heels.

This blog is dedicated to anyone that isn't as fortunate to spend lots of money on a nice outfit, anyone with imperfections, and to all of the weird & eccentric bushes out there. You can be cheap and look great, you don't have to get your nails done to look great, and you surely don't have a Beyoncé body to look great. Own your imperfections and shut shit down whether you're going to the club or the grocery store. Most importantly just be you.

Now back to the outfit...This look is definitely Solange inspired. I love how she's able to mix and match patterns perfectly. I decided to put my own spin to pattern madness.

This look is very funky yet versatile. You can spice it up by adding some strappy sandal heels or you can tone it down with simpler accessories. I don't think it's too "thottie" but you'll definitely snatch a lil side piece in this fit :)

For this post I teamed up with my partners-in-crime Lala and CJ to help promote the Worst Behavior Movement. Worst Behavior is an up-and-coming urban clothing brand whose mission is to inspire the imaginative, embrace freedom of expression, uplift individuality, and increase creativity through clothing. The Pharaoh and Nefertiti symbolize Worst Royalty and the representation of the gas mask is left up to your own interpretation. I see it as a way to intimidate those who fear the uncommon.

Worst Behavior's founder is a really good friend of mine. To be honest, I doubted her when she first told me she was going to start a clothing line. Once I saw the products, I immediately turned into a believer. I know the rest of the world will "convert" into believers as well. Yellow flower headband: ASOS /
Floral wide-leg onesie: Urban Thread /
Buckled booties: Forever 21

I picked up this adorable floral onesie from my favorite vintage store Urban Thread. It's a weird, 70s wide leg piece that I decided to try out and I fell in love with it. I paired it up with booties, a cute little flower headband and wild hair to complete my free-spirited festival look. Bohemian style is becoming a massive trend and wide-leg pants are making a comeback.

People are absolutely sleep on Gainesville. If you look in the right places, you can actually find some great vintage pieces. If you are a vintage lover just as much as I am, I recommend you stop by Urban Thread and check it out!

I took another trip to Miami this weekend and decided to do a simple shoot with by brother's dog Marley. It was too hot and Marley is too hyperactive to be too extra. No bra, loose jeans, boots, and a few cute accessories were good enough for me. Kind of Aaliyah-ish to me.

Boyfriend jeans were a major trend over the past few seasons but I couldn't find a perfect fit in any store. I went right to Goodwill and found some size 10 jeans for $5, cut them up a bit and cuffed the bottom. I lost a little weight so now they fit even baggier but I'm perfectly fine with that.

I'm back bissshhhheeesss!!! I know y'all missed me (sike)...

I've honestly been really lazy lately. I didn't know how to act when the Summer came and all of the stress went away. I went home to Miami and had the time of my life... then I came back to Gainesville and realized how limited I was here. There's so many more networking opportunities on the basis of fashion and the arts in Miami compared to Gainesville. I had so many ideas with limited time. Now, I'm in Gainesville depressed af with these summer classes.

I shouldn't be depressed bruh. Summer is my favorite season. I see it as a time for new beginnings and as a time to reflect upon my life. The free time allows me to figure out what I need to fix about myself and what I can do to grow into a better me. Every summer has always been a tough one for me. So far I've had a surgery, a break-up and a falling out but I ain't complaining. Shit happens and I truly appreciate these experiences. The beauty of life is being able to grow and change so that you mold into your true self.

Last but not least, I can't forget to mention how I'm supposed to have been working on making and selling these flower headbands but... you know that whole lazy thing I walking about earlier... I've created a couple of them but I just want them to perfect before I start selling them. But... I'm broke-e-fugh so I need to stop playing and get this money. I will be selling soon so be on the lookout those!! For inquiries email: brokehannah@gmail.com
